Faux florals are low maintenance, but not no maintenance. A little intentional care goes a long way toward keeping your stems looking the way they did the day they arrived.

first things first: know your stems
Not all faux florals are cared for the same way. True Bloom Floral carries three tiers, each with slightly different needs.
When in doubt, less is more. Gentle care works for every tier.
True Bloom Floral
Our highest tier. Premium real touch stems with detailed surface coatings. Handle gently and keep completely dry.
Real Touch
Soft, natural-feeling stems. Clean gently using dry methods or a lightly damp cloth for spot cleaning.
standard faux florals (including filler)
More forgiving. Can be cleaned with a damp cloth or mild soap solution when needed.

everyday care
The four habits that matter
1. Dust regularly
Dust dulls color and texture over time. A quick dust every 1–2 weeks keeps stems looking fresh.
2. Keep out of direct sunlight
Bright rooms are fine, but prolonged direct sun will fade colors over time, especially deeper tones.
3. Avoid heat and humidity
Keep stems away from fireplaces, radiators, kitchens, and bathrooms. Heat and moisture can damage materials.
4. Reshape as needed
Real touch stems are flexible. Gently reshape petals or bend wired stems to create natural movement.
Highly pigmented stems
Deep tones like reds, burgundies, and jewel shades may transfer color if pressed against light surfaces for extended periods.
This is normal for richly pigmented materials.
To prevent issues:
- Avoid prolonged contact with light fabrics or surfaces
- Wipe surfaces promptly if transfer occurs
- Give stems space when arranging
Storing your stems
How you store your stems matters just as much as how you display them.
- Store upright when possible
- Wrap loosely in tissue paper (acid-free if possible)
- Use a supportive storage box
- Keep in a cool, dry, dark space
- Avoid overpacking
Giving stems space helps preserve their shape and structure.
How long will my stems last?
With proper care, True Bloom and Real Touch stems typically last five years or more.
The three biggest factors that shorten their lifespan:
Direct sunlight
Dust buildup
Poor storage
Avoid those, and your arrangements will stay beautiful for years.
